Overview

The Disease Specific Care Reviewer-Ortho is responsible to review the following certification programs-Total Hip Replacement, Total Knee Replacement, Spine, Total Shoulder Replacement, Total Ankle Replacement, Hip Fracture and the Advanced Total Joint Replacement Program. Reviewers are expected to be knowledgeable regarding best practice in Orthopedics and provide our partner organizations with reviews that are educational and inspirational. The goal of certification is to ensure that patients are provided evidence-based orthopedic care and that the program continually monitors its performance of that care.

Qualifications

Advanced Degree in Nursing or Licensure as a Physician required. Board Certification in Orthopedics required.

Or a Doctorate prepared Physical Therapist

Five years active experience in Orthopedics.

Involvement in or familiarity with the Disease Specific Care Certification programs for Orthopedics

All positions require 100% nationwide travel. Please review the following employment statuses.

We are currently looking for candidates who are available to work:

Part-time .48 FTE (2 weeks per month - must provide 3 weeks availability) and .14 FTE (3 consecutive days per month).

100% nationwide travel required.

Physical Abilities:

  1. Must be able to observe, in real time and without slowing or otherwise interrupting the progress of, all applicable types of ongoing health care treatment (e.g., including emergency treatment, treatment during weather and other extreme situations, etc.).

  2. Standing for long periods of time, walking lengthy distances, lifting, climbing, stooping, pulling, and pushing in order to adequately inspect and observe all medical facilities, equipment and procedures, such as emergency exit procedures, remote storage facilities, any areas where cleanliness may affect the possibility of infection, medical equipment, etc., including the following activities:

  • walking up and down stairways (e.g., to test escape routes, assess safety of emergency exits, regulatory compliance, etc.);

  • removing obstructed covers or impediments to equipment or other mechanical areas;

  • examining small and often dirty printed labels and print on equipment;

  • Must be able to engage in extensive travel as set forth above, including driving a car to remote locations, flying on small airplanes and into small airports, traveling in all types of weather conditions, etc.
